Dry hopped Pilsners are delicious. Niche.. but delicious.
Over the years we have explored this style a few times and we absolutely loved the results. This style certainly does not grab the same attention as say a hazy IPA, but we believe these subtle, gorgeous beers have a place at the table.
The balance, as always with Pilsners, is not being too heavy handed, and focussing on technical proficiency and process excellence. We want these beers to definitely feel like lagers.. but with a subtle but noticeable uplift from freshly harvest NZ hops. The results can be magical - think our Simcoe Pils of a few years back!
These two dry hopped Pilsners are stripped back malt wise, feature low esters from the lager yeast, and lagered for a proper length of time to achieve the delicate balance in deliciousness. The interest from the dry hop is there, but not over-bearing.
